On Getting a Haircut
Friday, May 4, 2007My friend asked me why I got a haircut. But what she actually wanted to know was why I was keeping my hair short instead of growing it long like I used to. (Short is defined as above the shoulder level, I guess.)
My "official" "press release" on the subject is that I was sued by Disney for copyright infringement (not sure if that's the proper term). Anyway, what I meant was that they thought I was imitating their character Mulan just because I have straight and shiny, long black hair, chinky eyes, and Mulan-like stature. Well, since nothing could be done about my eyes and stature without spending so much, they focused in on my hair. Cut it short or get sued.
Does that sound like a tale or what?! Well, it is! That's all made up of course, but it humors me. Humors those who hear it as well.
If I were to honestly consider why I prefer keeping shorter hair now, I'd say it must be the body that it gives my limp hair; the fact that shorter hair even makes me look younger than I already do; the convenience I get–it doesn't take long to dry and comb; I don't get coughs anymore; plus, it's cheaper on the pocket because I use up less shampoo and/or conditioner.
Being a rather practical person, I guess I'll be keeping my hair short for much longer then. . . .
