Third World Angst: An Epilogue (Why I Think PLDT SUCKS BIGTIME!!!)

July 16, 2007

A PLDT technician has been calling several times since this morning. He's been asking questions–if we have DSL already (DUH!!!), etc.

He admitted something I've long known, the problem lies with PLDT. NO DUH!

He's been switching off the dial tone to our telephone line, tinkering with it from PLDT's end, in the hopes of finally solving our DSL connection problem. So a few times today, I didn't have any connection whatsoever to the outside world.

He said they'd drop by our place right after lunch. It was nearing 3PM when he called up again. Then he asked for our address. And I said we live on Maginhawa now. And then he tells me they've just been to our OLD address (Anonas)!

It turns out that our record with them is still not updated! Imagine that! After I've called PLDT one thousand and one times already!  Talk about efficiency! If PLDT paid millions for their I.T. system, I think they should sue their suppliers!

Anyway, a few minutes after I gave him our new address, we finally got DSL connection! I don't know if that was actually the reason why we didn't have DSL for so long!

At any rate, PLDT (for a corporation so big), just SUCKS. Period!

When we move back to our old address, I think we'll just get another telephone/DSL service provider.
