Dwindling
Monday, October 29, 2007It's been 21 days since our move. We have no telephone line until now. No DSL internet connection either.
I've noticed that my blogs' visitors have been dwindling by the day. Nothing I can do about that for now. Except to take note of it and remember that to keep the visitor statistics up, I'd have to blog consistently.
Since I started my blogs here at i.ph, the figure only went down one other time, last June. That was the month that we also had no telephone line and internet connection (thanks to PLDT, of course!).
Perhaps this time, we'll just ditch them completely and get another service provider. The question is, which one? Any tips?

Relax! Watch a FREE movie!
Tuesday, October 23, 2007
The class of Marketing of Arts and Entertainment together with De La Salle - Graduate School of Business, in line with International Week, is inviting you to a film screening of Blow-Up.
A very absorbing film that shows writer / director Michelangelo Antonioni's view of the world of mod fashion. This maddening, engaging, and provocative murder mystery examines the existential nature of reality through photography.
The film was nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay (Edward Bond, Michelangelo Antonioni, and Tonino Guerra).
The screening will be held this coming Thursday, October 25, 2007 in RCBC campus Room 525, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Get a chance to win Raffle Prizes from our Sponsors.
Hope to see you there!
Off to Calamba for Boo’s No. 4!
Thursday, October 11, 2007On Saturday, October 13, my "Boo" turns four! Tomorrow the entire clan (Exaggerating a bit here since it will most probably just our immediate family and my sister-in-law's immediate family too. But then again, it just might be two clans after all.) will spend the day in Calamba to celebrate Boo's birthday.
We'll be doing what Boo loves doing best–swimming!!! It's genetic, I guess. My siblings and I have always loved the water–all forms of it (though we do love the ocean the most). Boo, unlike some adults I know, isn't afraid of the water. However, she does still use her "Pringles" floatation devices on her arms to keep her up.
I remember the last time our entire family had a one-day swim. That was last June in Angeles City. We had the entire pool (and resort) all to ourselves most of the entire day. That was some fun we had there chasing each other around, playing water caterpillar. Even Boo was in the game. In fact, she may have had the most fun!
I still haven't replaced my busted digital camera yet. I know for sure my brother and sister will bring theirs–good I'll have something to post for my blog and for Multiply by next week!
It's the end of Ramadan tomorrow (declared a non-working holiday by President GMA) so the timing is perfect for our "family day."
Well, I do hope you'll enjoy you're Eidul Fitr holiday, too!
The Distraction of Blogging
Of late I've been keeping myself from blogging. Trying to "focus" a bit more on my schooling and our start-up business. Also, I've been trying to keep my mind from pondering on various things as I know it will only end up thinking of something I didn't want to think about again–at least not for a while. I knew for certain that thought would only depress me and might possibly suck me in a non-productive, self-condemning, self-pitying state of affairs. And I know for certain that I don't want to be in such a state.
Actually, I shouldn't even be blogging right now. I'm supposed to be working on a paper and a PowerPoint presentation. I guess I'm just still a bit exhausted from the moving we did that I'm too lazy to think more deeply right now. This too will pass.
I guess I better stop this now and try to get something done.
The "Habit" of Moving
And so we've moved again for the second time this year. We still live in Quezon City. However, this time we're now in the Cubao area. From the single bedroom that my two sisters and I lived in for about five or six days short of five months, we are not living in a three-storey, three-bedroom, three toilet and bath townhouse. This time even our parents and uncle get to move back in (though they're only in Manila on weekends).
I still prefer my old neighborhood in Sikatuna. I even prefer Teachers Village. To be honest, I dislike the Cubao area for all the traffic and jeepneys. But I do like it when I'm inside the townhouse compound. And I especially love the fact that I have my own room again! Just in the nick of time, too! My two sisters were already ganging up on me back in our Teachers Village room.
I moved out last. My sisters did their moving Sunday and Monday. I was in Cavite and came back only on Monday night, so I did my moving on Monday night and Tuesday morning. Two trips in all because I used a car and I didn't load it up too much since my books were quite heavy.
Moving was easier and faster this time as most of our things are still all packed up in boxes in our house in Pampanga. Nevertheless, it was quite exhausting hauling my thick books up the stairs to the second floor where my new bedroom was.
Everything's almost settled now at our new place. It's just our telephone line that needs transferring again. I've been delaying going to PLDT. Still exhausted from my previous dealings with them, I guess. (Read about it here: My Third World Angst) I wonder how long it's going to take them to transfer our telephone line and DSL connection this time?!
