Of Hospitals and Ages-Old Hearts and Grandmas

Monday, December 3, 2007

I’ve been in and out of room 327 of the Manila Adventist Medical Center (MAMC) since Thursday last week. I even slept there several nights–Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday nights.

Ina, my 94-year old grandma, was brought there last Thursday for congestive heart failure (CHF). She lives in Baler, Aurora so the trip to the hospital took several hours. Upon arrival, she was hooked up to an oxygen mask and tank. They also put her on dextrose.

For someone who’s just four and a half years short of being a century old, she sure doesn’t look her age. Nor does she think and talk like most senior citizens these days. She’s still quite sharp–just a little hard of hearing.

Thankfully, she’s been up and out of the hospital since around 11:30 A.M. yesterday. She’s staying at my aunt and uncle’s house now in Baesa.

Thank you, Jesus!
