CL 071008 (Prayer Request)

Dr. Jemuel Frias (PUC BSMT 1988) Consultant, Internal Medicine, Scheer Memorial Adventist Hospital in Banepa, Nepal sent this email to me about his wife (Dr. Jingbee Frias- Pediatrician in the same hospital). They have 3 young kids and both are (GC) Interdivision Employees serving as missionary couple to Nepal. They are nearing the end of their service term next year when this serious incident happen. We solicit prayers for Jingbee's recovery and plead for Gods miracle to be forthcoming.

Dear Family &  Friends,

First of all, please accept our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for your incessant prayers and standing by our family on behalf of Jevelyn or Jingbie.  The LORD is SO GOOD and MERCIFUL!  He answered our prayers for divine intervention and healing for Jevelyn!

I am so sorry for not being able to reply immediately to your e-mails and I am sure you are still anxious.  This is my first time to go home since that sad day of Sept. 11.  There might be some of you who have tried to send e-mails but bounced back.  Since that day, I was not able to open our e-mails as our ISP could not be accessed outside our residential campus.  Thanks for the efforts!  I could not control my tears as I read your letters of concern and encouragement!

Jevelyn or Jingbie is now breathing on her own.  The mechanical ventilator was removed last Friday and her endotracheal tube yesterday.  Her vital signs are stable except that she is still drowsy but responsive.   She suffered from  right intracerebral, subdural and subarachnoid hemorrhages due to a ruptured AV mal (arteriovenous malformation) .  She suddenly lost consciousness Tuesday, Sept 11 at 1:00 pm after complaining of headache since morning that day.  We rushed her to a hospital in Kathmandu (capital city of Nepal) where the cranial CT scan revealed the lesions.  She underwent an emergency craniotomy to remove the hematoma and stop the bleeding.  She was on mechanical ventilation for 10 days.

We solicit your continuous prayers as she recovers from some neurologic deficits.  She still needs to undergo angiography and definitive neurosurgery to excise the AV mal.

It was a tough experience for me and the children for this to happen in a place or country not your own but by God's grace we were able to cope up because of your faithful prayers and with the tremendous help, support, concern, love and prayers of our mission hospital staff and close friends.  I was so touched with the move of our Hindu medical staff in organizing prayer sessions on behalf of Jingbie.

I am sure that some of you have asked your friends in praying for Jingbie.  Kindly convey to them our sincere thanks.  Kindly e-mail this letter to them too!

You may send your e-mails to my other e-amil add - jemuelabe@yahoo.com in case you are having difficulty in sending to this add.

Again thank you very much for your love and concern and especially for your prayers!  God Bless!

With faith,

Jemuel, Jingbie, Jisty & Jyle
